There has been a lot of information going around about missing people in the White Mountains recently, so we here at the Mogollon Rim News thought we would take some time to clear the air on exactly what has been going on.
The first case is in regards to Craig Cavanaugh, a New Mexico resident who was last seen on July 4th, 2019 as he left New Mexico on his way to Peoria, Arizona to start a new job. A witness reported seeing Cavanaugh in Payson, but no other evidence has been found to support this claim. Two male suspects were spotted using Cavanaugh’s credit cards in Payson, Glendale, and Peoria between July 5th and 7th, and Cavanaugh’s vehicle was recovered on July 12th. Craig Cavanaugh’s body was discovered near Navajo and Coconino counties in Arizona and was identified Thursday. The investigation is still underway in this case.

Keith Bailey was reported missing out of Phoenix, Arizona on August 6th, 2019. Keith was last seen by his wife, Nikki Bailey, when he was on his way to work the morning of August 6th. Bailey’s body and vehicle were found outside of Heber, Arizona the morning of August 25th. Foul play is not suspected in this case.
