I met with Ginger Reeves, the new P.A. today at the beautiful new Summit Health Care Center in Overgaard. Ginger and her husband Dagley are full time residents here now. They moved here full time to their home in Overgaard recently from Fountain Hills. Upon graduating from the University of Texas, Ginger moved to Fountain Hills where she worked as a P.A. with Dr. Rajiv Parikh for 26 years.
Gingers husband, Dagley, retired from Southwest Airlines recently and lucky for us they decided to make a change and become fulltime residents of Heber-Overgaard.
With the addition of Ginger, the clinic now offers walk-ins Monday through Friday between the hours of 8am – 5pm. Ginger tells me they have their own X-Ray Department and accept emergencies at the clinic. They do sutures, castings and EKG’S. Ginger tells me she gives her mobile phone number to patients for emergencies. Now this is for a real emergency she says and “don’t call me for just a headache at midnight”. I have had only one doctor who was caring enough to give me his mobile.
Plans for the future might include a vending pharma machine where you insert your written prescription and receive your medication immediately. That would be a real life saver for many of us in our little remote community.
It was a pleasure chatting with Ginger today. She gives you the feeling that everything is going to be alright with her upbeat energy, warm smile and charming Texas drawl.
