Thursday Night Football will present an age-old rivalry between the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4) and Cleveland Browns (3-6), on FOX and the NFL Network from Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium. Pittsburgh won 7 of the last 8 meetings with the only blemish being a tie at the beginning of last season. Cleveland has fallen short of expectations this season. They are clinging to hope and are coming off a close win over the Buffalo Bills last week. As for the Pittsburgh Steelers after coming off a disappointing start of the season they have gone on a roll with 4 straight victories and hold on to the last play-off spot in the AFC. Since the Steelers traded for Minkah Fitzpatrick the Steelers defense has gone from giving up 30.5 points, and 445 yards per game to 17.1 points and 300 yards per game. It was Fitzpatrick’s 43 yard fumble recovery against the Rams that was returned for a TD for the winning score. Cleveland’s defense is ranked 17th in the NFL. It’s been great against the pass (ranked 7th) but just as they been great against the pass they have been horrible against the run (ranked 27th).
