Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns open the season tonight hosting the Sacramento Kings @ 7:00 p.m. on FSAZ. After hosting the Kings,  Suns travel to Denver where they will take on the Nuggets on Friday 10/25 @ 6:00 p.m. To end the week the Suns host the Los Angeles Clippers on 10/26 @ 7:00 p.m.

All eyes were on the starting pitchers to see whom would be the first to make a mistake. For the first time in his past 25 starts Geritt Cole, came back down to earth, suffered his first loss. Cole went 7 IP, 8 Hits, 5 Runs, 5 ER, 1BB, 6 K’s, and allowed 2 HR’s for a surprising ERA of 6.43. On the other side, pitching for the Nationals, Max Scherzer. Scherzer’s stats are as follows 5.0 IP, 5 Hits, 2 Runs, 2 ER, 3 BB, 7 K’s, and ERA of 3.60. The big story of the game was Washington’s Juan Soto. Soto went 3 for 4 with a double, and a monster Homerun that landed on the train track, Soto also collected 1 run scored, and 3 R.B.I.’s. Also, for the Nationals, fan favorite, Ryan hits the Nationals first franchise homerun, to cut the deficit to 2-1.                                                      Houston Astros George Springer homered in his 5th straight World Series game, setting all-time record.

Washington Nationals (Stephen Strasburg 18-6 3.32 ERA) vs Houston Astros ( Justin Verlander 21-6, 2.58 ERA) on FOX @ 4:07 p.m. This being round two of the three pitching staffs. You can pick any of the six starting pitchers in the first three games else where, they would be the number 1 guy in any other rotation except for the LA Dodgers (Clayton Kershaw).

– The Mogollon Mustangs enter the State Playoffs. The #7 ranked Mustangs will host the first round of the play-offs, with #10 Joseph City. Yes, the Joseph City we gave the beating to last week in Joseph City. There is a saying in sports “it is tough to beat the same team twice in same season”. I really don’t think that fits in this case, the only thing that I am concerned about is one of our key players getting hurt before round 2. The winner between #7 Mogollon vs #10 Joseph City will travel to #2 Bahgdad next week. But you never know what the football gods have in store.
