Feeling happy and connected in your community can be as important as finding the right home. The rewarding lifestyle my family and I enjoy in Heber Overgaard was one of the reasons I saw Real Estate sales as a way to share that feeling to others.
During the time our family evolved from “summer residents” to full timers, my husband Dee has transitioned from part-time firefighter to Assistant Fire Chief of the Heber/Overgaard Fire Department. Our teens Hannah and Cole have found lasting friendships at Mogollon High, where they thrive on the individualized instruction, small class size and variety of activities they enjoy, (but they still miss their big sis Megan, away at college in L.A.). My parents Dick and Jill made Rim Country their home as well, gathering a whole new group of friends volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Senior Center. Even three lively dogs and our horse Edward are enjoying the mountain lifestyle.
So, joining Diane Dahlin’s Pine Rim Realty team has been a perfect fit. It brings together all the skills I’ve honed as a business coach and entrepreneur and allows me to use them serving my clients and my community. Dee and I saw the need for more community access to information about area organizations that impact our lives, (Like the Fire Service, or nearby National Forest Agencies), so we organized the new “Tuesday Talks” at the Heber Overgaard Community Center.
Networking with the Lion’s Club and Chamber of Commerce members has introduced us to the professional and service sector in the area—when my clients need help to get their home in tip top shape to sell or want to modify the home they’ve purchased, “I’ve gotta guy” (or a “gal”) to refer them to.
But the most rewarding part of my work is making my client’s lives run smoothly during the real estate sale cycle. Make no mistake, I love guiding clients on “the hunt”—finding that perfect match of size, price and those little things that make them smile say, “Yep…this is where I want to be.” But as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), I am committed to keeping communication flowing from the first “ah-ha” to the sound of the key opening their front door for the first time.
However, in the buying or selling process just as in life, “news” can come in both “good” or “bad” versions. But my work and lifestyle philosophy is that “bad news” is just one of life’s “head’s up” moments—not a crisis, but time for an alternate plan. I don’t want my clients to wonder and worry about “What’s going on?” “What do we do now?” once we have signed a contract. From loan qualification to closing, I integrate the flow of information throughout the process.
Friends and family sometimes joke about my obsession with detail, but in fact it is a core part of my workstyle and business success. I search for new ways every day to streamline the real estate sale process so my clients feel that their transaction flows from offer to closing with unmatched customer service and professionalism.
It is so rewarding to know that my entire family feels that each new day in the Rim Country unfolds with promise and a sense of belonging. We think there’s a niche for everyone in our welcoming small town environment, and I truly enjoy my role as an enthusiastic “High Country Ambassador.”
