Ladies Community Bible Study celebrated the season with a full Christmas Southern Tea

The Ladies Community Bible Study (LCBS) held a special Christmas Tea on December 8, 2016, at Miche McEntire’s home to celebrate the holiday season. Miche, Becky Perry, Cathy Artz and I met several times to discuss details. Miche’s charming home, decorated in Victorian décor, was perfect for the occasion complete with beautiful table linens and china tableware.

The delicious luncheon started off with Creamy Corn Chowder soup (Miche) followed by finger sandwiches of egg salad, cranberry chicken salad and cucumber (Diane Tomlinson, Becky Perry and Linda Minde). Next course was the Cranberry orange scones with Cottage Cream and Lemon Curd topping (Margaret Chatters and Marijane Delong). Desserts consisted of different breads, lemon and chocolate cakes (Miche). The teas offered were Christmas spice blend and Earl Grey.

A white elephant gift exchange added fun and laughter. I sang “Mary Did You Know”, thanked the group for their generosity and gave an update of our giving for 2016.

Over the year our small offering basket met many needs in our community and beyond our borders. Some of the things we’ve helped to support include Samaritan’s Purse, Bread of Life Mission in Holbrook, Beth Moore Conference in Chinle, AZ, local school supplies, Joni and Friends (Bison Camp in Overgaard for disabled families), Change For Hope (funeral expenses for a little boy), Rim Country Senior-Community Center, Global Training Network (Jim Baugh’s international training of indigenous church leaders to reach their own people), helped a local family grieving the loss of their little boy, just to name a few. Plus, we did a food collection for Rim Country Senior-Community Center and the Bread of Life Mission in Holbrook. These ladies provided over $1,200 + in outreach ministry. May God Bless these faithful women abundantly for their giving hearts.

LCBS is a local group of ladies from all different backgrounds who come together to study God’s word and enjoy the fellowship. We don’t discuss husbands, religion or politics. What a privilege it is for me to lead these dear women in this ministry. We’d like to invite you to come join us. Our first study on the book of Malachi begins Thursday February 2, 2017 at 10:30am at the Navajo County Complex conference room. We have a great line up of Bible studies for 2017 including: Fight Back with Joy by Margaret Feinberg, Redeemed by Angela Thomas, The Gospel of Mark by Lisa Harper and All Things New by Kelly Minter. Please feel free to contact me with questions at 928-240-0240.
Wishing you blessings & joy in the new year!
