Congratulations to the Mogollon Junior High School Wrestling Team!

The Mogollon Jr High Wrestling Team made history on December 2, as they won their first ever White Mountain League Championship. This is a great accomplishment considering they are the second smallest school in the league. The league consists of the following schools: Alchesay, Round Valley, Blue Ridge, Show Low, Snowflake, St. Johns, Holbrook, Joseph City, Winslow, Payson and Mogollon.

Individual results for Mogollon were:

  • Cael Porter
  • Malaki Porter
  • Blayk Kelton
  • Tyler Owens

  • Kaleb Porter
  • Hadley Porter
  • Kaige Reidhead
  • Payton Reidhead
  • Fisher Porter

3rd placers-

  • Rocky Porter
  • Trextan Reidhead

The other wrestlers that contributed to the team’s success but didn’t quite make the top four were: Adrian Suarez, Braxton Owens, Stetson Owens, Alex Lindsey and Joseph Hill.

The Mustangs wrestled this year with the theme of “Earn It.”  The message behind the theme was that we don’t always get what we deserve, but we always get what we earn. These young men along with 25 others that wrestled throughout the season put in a tremendous amount of time and effort along with blood, sweat and tears to accomplishment their goal. Well done Mustangs…you EARNED IT!
