The #7 Mogollon Mustangs traveled to take on the #10 Joseph City Wildcats in Joseph City. This is the last regular season game and the turnout could affect both teams in the rankings. The first half was all Mustangs led by Timmy Porter, and the Kelton brothers, Jake and Blake. Blake had two receptions of 75+yards. The defense for the Mustangs caused 4 turnovers (3 Int’s and 1 fumble. HALF TIME SCORE MUSTANGS – 50 WILDCATS – 8.
The second half once again was all Mustangs, but not the same Mustangs that played the first half. The second half was led by the FRESHMEN and SOPHMORES. The Varsity guys sat out the entire second half. The play of the game, that had the whole sideline talking about was made by Peyton Reidhead. Reidhead ran the ball down the field for 35 yards before being tackled. What made the play so great is at the end of the run before being taken down, Peyton did a spin move and actually pushed the would be tackler out of bounds and then instead of going out of bounds continued to run. He had one defender in and the hit he put on him and all the players and coaches excited. He lowered his head and shoulders and plowed right into him knocking the defender back to last weak. Reidhead a familiar name. Oh ya I remember last year “Seth”. I’m positive that Seth would’ve been impressed by that run himself.
Final score MUSTANGS – 70 WILDCATS – 8 . WAY TO GO BOYS AND GO MUSTANGS!
