Pine Needlers quilters honored veterans now employed by the US Forest Service with military themed quilts at a presentation on September 14, 2017 at Black Mesa Ranger Station. At the ceremony were John Lopez (Marines), Veronica Godfree (Army) and Tim Rose (Army). Pine Needlers were represented by Judy King, Mary Jordn, Yuriko Zoller and Senda McLaughlin.

Those absent were Bob McDonald (Navy), George Hruby (Marines), Nick Cardinal (Army), Calvin Ballenger (Marines), Mark Chavez (Army), Rick Dodds (Army) and Jeremiah Muzzy (Army). The group hopes to either send each their quilt or present it to them upon their return from fire assignments over the next couple weeks. Many thanks to these guys and gals who served our country militarily and continue to serve in the USFS!
