An educational forum on the Mexican Wolf Project is scheduled for Saturday January 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Rim Country Senior Center. This event is sponsored by concerned citizens from around the state who have been studying the subject for several years. This seminar will share what has been learned about the Mexican wolf in Arizona and New Mexico since its introduction in 1998. In January 2015, the US Fish & Wildlife Service revised the 10(j) rule that determines among other things where wolves are released and increased the population objective threefold. Topics to be covered in the forum include:
- What you can anticipate with the new 10(j) rule?
- How will this ruling affect you, your family and our community?
This is a public meeting for everyone, no matter your opinion or affiliation. The Rim Country Senior Center is located at 2171 B Street in Overgaard, AZ. From Highway 260 turn south on Senior Center Drive which is just to the west of mile marker 308. Come to the meeting and get your questions answered.
